Puterbaugh's Buffalo Blast
October 3 - 7, 2022
A Note From Ms. Miller...
Benchmark Tests
Students will be taking their Quarter 1 Benchmarks on October 6 & 7. These tests will be a cumulative overview of information that we learned from the first 9 weeks of school. We will have a modified bell schedule on these days and students will go to lunch based on their Advisory class. We will not accept late work from Quarter 1 after October 11.
Morning and Afternoon Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures
***Please see our Puterbaugh Facebook Page for the video***
Entry for morning drop off and afternoon pick up will start on 12th street (the road between Puterbaugh and Will Rogers), students will be dropped off at the awning (Ms. Miller and Mrs. Gragg will be there to greet students),circle around the back south entry and then exit on the service road, Cpt. Zappy Ott Dr. (by the fire station and armory building). Please refer to the video posted on our Puterbaugh Middle School Facebook site for a visual representation of the procedures.
The front circle drive is reserved for buses only. Students may be
issued detention if dropped off in the front.
After School Tutoring Time
Student who are on the ineligible list will be required to stay for after school tutoring until they have passing grades. Bus riders may stay for tutoring as well and leave once their bus arrives in the front circle. All students staying for tutoring will receive an afternoon snack as they leave the building for the day.
Tardies
Morning Tardies - Our first bell rings at 7:38am and students are to be in 1st hour by 7:45am. If a student is late, they will need to enter through the front doors, check in on the kiosk and go to 1st hour where they will be marked tardy.
Class Tardies - Per the District Handbook, if a student receives 3 tardies in a class, the student will receive a detention. We have extended our passing time this year to accommodate our students, therefore the shouldn't be any reason for students to be tardy to class ;)
Attendance Incentive
Research proves that attendance is vital and plays a pivotal role in the academic success of students. Here at Puterbaugh, we like to reward those students who have perfect attendance each semester.... by taking them to the movies! So remind them of that when needed ;)
For students that are chronically absent, our CAT (Chronic Absentee Team)will be making visits to homes of students with 7 or more absences. It is state law that students are to miss no more than 9 days a semester, absences exceeding this number are reflective on the school's State Report Card and will be referred to the District Attorney. Research shows there is a direct correlation between student's attendance and academic achievement in school. We thank you in advance for helping us ensure your child's academic success.
Have a BUFFALO Day!
