Teaching with Tech Newsletter

May 2019

Seeing that this is going to be the last newsletter of the 2018-2019 school year, I wanted to mix things up a bit while keeping it short and providing you with some helpful resources. Below you will find end-of-year activities, some great options for summer reading, and more info on the Teaching with Tech Conference.

End-of-Year Activities

I love the month of May! The weather is great, the pollen count is lowering, and testing is over!!! Well... for the most part. All year long you have had ideas and wanted to try something new, but you may have been hesitant because you had to get those standards covered. All those standards... so little time.

With testing in the rearview mirror (and the beach in sight!), May is a great time to try out some of those new ideas and take a few chances. Here is a list of resource that we have come across if you need some help getting started.

The theme this year is Tech Fiesta - Nacho Average Tech Conference. For competition this year, we are going to have a chips and dip/salsa showcase, so get your best recipe ready and don't be afraid to bring the heat! Prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners! Also, this PD opportunity can count as a flex day for the 2019-20 school year.

Also, the door prizes are racking up! We have gift cards galore (including a spa package), $100 classroom supply money, premium memberships to tech tools, and an iPad, with many more to come!

Registration is first come, first serve, so go ahead and get signed up. We have already opened registration to educators outside of DeKalb County Schools.
