Our 11th grade students will participate in the Oregon Statewide Assessment System (OSAS) on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, during the regular school hours. OSAS is an annual measurement of common core state standards, including English language arts (ELA), mathematics, and science.
For families, state testing helps provide reliable information that can be compared to other assessment information such as grades and school and district assessment results. Participation in state testing also helps us demonstrate excellence of Hood River Valley High School to our community. Our high school students continue to graduate at higher rates than Oregon’s total students. State testing scores are another tool to measure and show excellence. Most students complete the ELA test between one and a half and three hours, the mathematics test between one and one and a half hours, and the science test in one hour. Students who are taking these tests will have a lunch break at the same time as the other high school students.
