Welcome Back!

Our first week of school was a success. We focused the first four days of school getting to know one another and building our classroom community. I believe it is important to establish a supportive classroom community where students work with each other and encourage one another.

What's Coming?

This week we will begin assignment notebooks which will serve as a communication tool between home and school. Inside the assignment notebook will also be the monthly reading calendar, and other current learning resources. Second graders learn responsibility and organization by writing down the date and homework each morning. It will be your child's responsibility to ask you to sign it each night- and in return they can earn a class dojo point each morning!

Tomorrow we will dive into math instruction with Bridges. There is a great parent resource you can access:

Parent Information Night (PIN) will take place next Tuesday, September 15th from 5:00-5:45 for grades K-2, 6:00-6:30 for a presentation from our principal, Mrs. Posnanski, and 6:45-7:30 for grades 3-5. The second grade team will present together, hand out classroom information packets, and answer any questions you might have. I look forward to seeing you there!
