PTO Meeting Update
Dear Parents,
Wow! What an amazing turn out at our first PTO meeting of the school year! Thank you so much for attending! We look forward to seeing you at future PTO meetings. I apologize that the meeting was a bit loud. In order to keep the volume and distractions to a minimum, we are going to have some rules in place for all future meetings. If your child is in grade 3 and up, he/she may sit by the computers and quietly do their homework. Grades k-2 students MUST sit with their parents. Please bring a book or quiet activity for them. No toys or games will be available. Thank you so much for your understanding!

School Advisory Council Parent Ballot
Parents,
The link below is the ballot for our School Advisory Council Parent Ballot. We have 5 candidates and 5 open seats. Please read over the bios of our candidates and select 5 or if you would like to add a name as a write-in candidate, feel free to do so. The link will be live until Wednesday September 5th.
Elizabeth LaJeune
My name is Elizabeth LaJeune, and my family and I recently moved to Viera. I recently started a new career, but I taught for twelve years total before that. I taught in Mississippi and in the suburbs of Atlanta. I taught kindergarten, first, third, and fourth grades, so I also know how different grade levels work and the needs of the students and teachers in those grade levels. I am interested in being involved with the SAC. I understand the inner workings of a school and the demands placed upon teachers. I have three children of my own, so I very much understand the other side of education also. My children are in first, third, and fourth grades at Manatee, and I would like to be a part of keeping this wonderful school at the top
Brad Fink
Brad and his wife, Melanie, moved to this area in 2013 and for the past 5 years have had at least two children at Manatee. Their oldest, Benjamin, completed 6th grade last year and currently attends McNair Middle, Ethan is in 5th grade, Landen is in 1st grade, and their youngest, Meredith will start at Manatee in a few years! Brad is the Lead Pastor of Cross Bridge Church (www.crossbridgenaz.org), a Chaplain with the Rockledge Police Department, and a retired Air Force Chaplain who served in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. Brad leads and serves on multiple other councils and boards and is delighted to be considered to serve Manatee as a member of the School Advisory Council.
Tara Lott
My name is Tara Lott and I am a native to Brevard County. I have a daughter in fifth grade and a son in third. I have volunteered at Manatee for the past 6 years, with the past 3 as the Fundraising Chair for the PTO. I have been an active Substitute for Brevard County Schools for 8 years and worked part-time for a title company in Brevard and Orange County. I truly love to be involved with my children’s school and the community.
Holly Apgar
My name is Holly Apgar (yes like the score!) and blessed to be the mother of 2 boys. Holden, 8 years old, is currently a 3rd grader and Elliott, 3 years old, is in preschool and will eventually join his older brother when he enters kindergarten. I am a life-long Brevard resident residing the past 2 years in Chelsea Park. Prior to becoming a Manatee, my son attended St Mary School in Rockledge where I served on the school’s advisory board (4 years) and was the school’s volunteer/fundraising coordinator (3 years). In addition to being a mom I work full time at Harris Corporation’s Corporate Headquarters as the Customer Engagement and Advocacy Manager. I have my MBA from Florida State and have participated in several executive learning programs. I look forward to participating on Manatee’s School Advisory Council and serving this wonderful school which has welcomed my family with open arms.
Jael Lamothe
Jael Lamothe (first name pronounced as J.L.) is mom to Alena, Christian, and Brielle all attending Manatee in 6th, 5th, and 3rd grades; wife to Yves a systems engineer and entrepreneur extraordinaire (owner of DJ Yves Entertainment and NFA fitness); a chemical engineer with experience in manufacturing, research and development, space vehicle processing, project management, and business development; and most importantly an individual with a passion for fun, life, and learning including cooking, history, art, math, and science. Her personal philosophy is if we aren’t challenging ourselves to learn something new, then we aren’t living and experiencing life to our full potential. As someone who is quite analytical and equally passionate about exploring the art of the possible, Jael eagerly looks forward to applying her skills to serve her local community and considers it a privilege to serve as a member of the Student Advisory Council.
