Congratulations!
Congratulations! The 2019-2020 Discovery Middle School Symphonic Band has been selected as a guest performance ensemble at the 2019 University of Alabama Middle School Honor Band in December. I am so incredibly proud of the Discovery Middle School band students. We have had a fantastic year and I look forward to even more great memories next year!
All Band Students
-Please make sure you took home ALL belongings from the band room. Email info@dmsbands.org if you didn't.
Items will be donated next week.
-If you would like your eighth grade band certificate and didn't receive it, contact Mrs. Merritt and we can get it to you sometime.
-Uniform Turn In - Please return all borrowed Concert Attire items (Vest and Bow Tie)
Many uniform pieces have not been turned in yet.
- Orlando trip DVD's are in - please contact us if you need to pick up your dvd.
-Summer Instrument Rental
Let us know if you would like to rent an instrument for the summer.
Please complete a Rental Agreement Form and send $30 payment (Cash or Check-include 2 phone numbers and drivers license)

-Band Room Work Day - A work day will be scheduled soon.
-Madison Band Supply will be having a used instrument sale starting May 30th and ending June 1st! Instruments will be on sale starting at $199.99. Student and step up models will be available!
-We encourage all students to register for the Madison Music Camp in June. See you there! Registration at www.jcjetsband.com
-Auburn University offers several great Summer options for High School and Middle School Band students wishing to develop their skills:

2019/2020 BJHS Patriot Band
May 29 - 31 - BJHS Band - Rookie Camp/Percussion Camp (Mandatory)

Schedule:
May 29- 8am-12pm (marching fundamentals) and 1-4pm (uniform fittings)---LUNCH on your own
May 30- 8am-12pm (marching/music) and 1-4pm (marching/music)---LUNCH with your sections (bring your own)
May 31- 8am-12pm (marching/music) and 1-4pm (review- Parent performance at 3:45pm)---LUNCH on your own
What to wear: Athletic shorts, athletic shoes, and short sleeve shirt
What to bring: Sunscreen, instrument, large water container (jug, large water bottle, etc.), binder with sheet protectors
*School owned instruments will be available to rent at 8am on Wednesday, May 29 ($25 for the summer).
July 15 - 30 - BJHS Band Camp (Mandatory) 8am-7pm
