Wind power
Renewable energy
What is wind power?
Wind power is the use of the wind to do useful work, such as electricity.wind power is kinder to the enviorment than many other sources of energy, such as fossil fuels or nuclear, power because wind power causes little pollution. Wind is a free source of energy that can easily be put to work using windmills or their modern equivalent-wind turbines.
How does it work?
A wind turbine works the opposite way as a fan. Instead of using electricity to make wind, like a fan, wind turbines use wind to make electricity. The wind turns the blades, which spins a shaft, which connects to a generator and makes electricity.
Disadvantages
It makes waves by whipping up the seas surface. It. pushes desert sand up into-dunes and moves the dunes along, grain by grain. It creates blinding sand storms by lifting millions of tons of sand into the air over deserts. It spreads the Suns heat through the atmosphere so that the earths warmed more evenly.
Advantages
The wind is free and with modern technology it can be captured efficiently.once the wind turbine is built the energy produces it does not because green house gases or other pollutants. Although wind turbines can be very tall they each take up only a small plot of land this means that the land below can still be used this is especially the case in agricultural areas as farming can still continue. many people find eind farms an interesting feature of the land scape.
What is renewable energy?
Renewable energy is energy generated by natural resources. Some of these renewable sources are solar, wind, water, etc. All of these sorces are renewable. All of them replenish quickly..... They're like a never ending supply!
