Fogelsville Elementary Principal Tim Chorones spoke with Samantha Edwards, Media Specialist, about the Fogelsville Foxes, a student team who recently won 7th in the nation in the Wonder League Robotics Competition which invites students ages five through 11 from across the country to complete seven computer programming challenges using classroom-friendly robots, Dash & Dot.. John Vignone, Director of Business Administration, gave a budget update presentation which can be viewed by clicking here. The projected maximum millage rate for the Final Budget is 14.89 which equates to a 3.8% tax increase over last year's budget.
The 2016-17 General Operating Budgets at LCTI, LCCC, and the CLIU were approved.
Mark Hanichak reported that the CAC met last week regarding the Signs and Symptoms of At-risk Behaviors and a School Safety Update that reviewed a new system that allows transportation to monitor the speed and location of all school buses at any given time as well as video camera capabilities.
The Parkland Education Foundation announced that it will utilize EITC donations to fund Maker Space centers at each of the elementary school media centers. The Gala will be Monday, May 2nd.
The Board enjoyed the student recognition presentations this evening.
Rich Sniscak and the Board congratulated Beth Breiner on her retirement announcement and thanked her for her service. Mr. Sniscak reminded everyone that the new Synthetic Turf Field will be dedicated on March 29, 2016, at 6:45 PM at the PHS stadium.
