Dot Day

September 15th-ish

1. Today is Dot Day!

What is Dot Day? Dot Day celebrates creativity. The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing, which has gone on to inspire countless children and adults around the globe.

2. Watch a video read aloud of The Dot.

Embedded in this flyer is a SafeShare and YouTube link of the same read aloud video.

If BOTH don't work.... come to the library to check out the book:-)

Isn't technology great?!?

3. Time to Make Your Mark at AAES!

Send a student to the library for a baggie full of paper squares. Have each student 'Make Their Mark' on the square. Return the squares to the library throughout the week. We'll add them to the wall outside the library to make a mosaic AAES.

"Celebrities" (mainly authors) share their dots with you. See who you recognize!
