Dr. Foster's Weekly Update (Watch Below)
FYI: Required Mental Wellness Presentation
Dear Bulldog Families,
In the next two weeks, we will provide a virtual Mental Wellness Presentation to students in grades 9-12. This online presentation is mandatory for all middle and high school students in the state of Kentucky per state law.
This year’s focus is mental wellness and includes information on how students can maintain positive mental health.
After the presentation, students must complete a response form. This counts as one grade for the progression category for each of your child's classes. The response form will close at 6:00 p.m. each evening of each lesson date.
Any student who indicates they want to speak to someone will be contacted by a member of our leadership team for individual support. If this contact indicates a need beyond logistical concerns (books, chrome book), he/she will be referred to their school counselor, mental health counselor or youth services counselor.
The program will be conducted through ILP classrooms to students as follows:
12th grade - 9/10/2020
11th grade - 9/11/2020
10th grade - 9/14/2020
9th grade - 9/15/2020
We encourage you to view the presentation and discuss the content with your child. The program is here:

Please keep an open dialogue with your children to help them feel safe to speak openly with you.
In the upcoming days, if your child exhibits behavior or mental health concerns, please reach out to me, Jill Crutcher, Jasmine Drinkard, Phil Johnston, Ana'Neicia Williams or Kevin Gunn. We'll ensure they receive help.
You can request school-based counseling support here.
In the case of an emergency call 9-1-1 or proceed to the nearest emergency room. If you are in Crisis (ANY painful emotion, for which you need support), text HOME to 741741. Within minutes, a crisis counselor will text you back to start a conversation. You can also call the Suicide Prevention Hotline @ 1-800-273-8255.
Thank you for your continued support of Louisville Male High School, JCPS and your child.
Sincerely,
Cynthia A. Sullivan "Cyndi"
