PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
I can't believe we are in the last trimester of the school year. WOW, time is going by quickly. The pandemic has affected everyone. Some of us have had hardships that are obvious and visible while others haven't been affected in as obvious of a manner. Schools and learning have also been affected. Learning gaps are more prevalent than in previous years and it will take us some time to close these gaps.
Parents and families can assist us with gap closing by reading nightly, practicing math facts, and signing up for summer school. Summer School information will be coming out in the near future. I encourage everyone to look through the booklet and find classes that your child will enjoy. Continuing learning throughout the summer will be essential for us to close learning gaps. Talk to your child's teacher if you need advice on how to help your child.
Thanks for all you do to help us. Please contact the office if you are in need of anything.
Mrs. Michalski
Notes from the Office
Open Enrollment: This year’s Open Enrollment application period will take place between February 1st and April 30th. The Wisconsin Open Enrollment program allows children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they live. Early and late applications will not be accepted. Parents may apply online at https://dpi.wi.gov/oe If you do not have access to a computer, call or stop in at the district office.
If your child is currently attending under Open Enrollment, it is not necessary to complete an application form; your child will remain an active student through 12th grade.

4th Graders making Oobleck
On Friday (3/12), students tried out one of the functional texts that they referred to throughout the week by making Oobleck. Later they completed a reflection on Seesaw describing what made the recipe easy to understand and what they found most interesting about the activity. My favorite comment came from Kiley, "It was very cool and satisfying. It was also fun to play with."
Math Activity - 4th Grade Mrs. Gossfeld's Classroom
Mrs. Gossfeld's class began working on measurement in math on Monday (3/15) and did a metric measuring activity on St. Patrick's Day with green water. Students needed to determine how much water runners drink during a marathon.
