Hi Aspen Families!

Here are some updates and important information for the upcoming week:

No School- 9/16

Please note that school will be closed on Thursday, September 16th in observance of Yom Kippur.

Parent Representatives Needed

We are looking for parents to serve as representatives on our district's Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) committee and District English Learner Advisory Council (DELAC). Please email me if you are interested in serving as an Aspen parent representative on one of these committees. Please know that there is a commitment to attend their monthly meetings.

Campus Safety Assistants Still Needed

We are still looking for any interested adults to work morning or afternoon shifts to cover our recess, lunch, and afternoon recess shifts. Please contact Stacey Coombe, our Office Manager, if you are interested in this opportunity!

Check Out our Fall Enrichment Classes

After School CRPD Recreation Classes have been delayed by a week to allow for more sign ups. Classes will run 9/20 - 11/19.

A representative from CRPD will also be in front of Aspen on Monday after school to answer any questions.

Want to get involved but not sure how? Have you paid your membership dues so you can vote? Want to meet new friends or see what PFA is all about? Here's your chance! Come join us in the Aspen MPR for our next PFA meeting on Tuesday, September 14th at 7 pm. We'd love to see you there!

If you are a room parent, please also consider attending the room parent tea prior to the PFA meeting on Tuesday, September 14th at 6 pm in the MPR and stay for the meeting!

Box Tops

Thank you for continuing to play the Box Tops Game! We have earned over $6000 in a very short time. We can raise up to $20,000 with this amazing limited time opportunity!

The Box Top App has a game that allows you to win up to $10 a day just by playing it for a few minutes every day! Please enter the code 20 times every day until November 30. Imagine if we all played? School Cents

The School Cents Program has begun! School Cents is a competition between Aspen and other local schools. Every time you shop or dine at The Oaks Mall from September 1 through April 30, we can earn up to $2,500 for Aspen! Right now they are running their best promotion of the year. We get 50 points for every dollar spent until October 31! To help raise money for Aspen, please drop your Oaks receipts in the new School Cents Box in the office. Or you can visit and follow the instructions to submit your receipts. You can also email an image of your receipt to and we will submit it for you.

19/20 and 20/21 Yearbooks

If you forgot to order your yearbook for 2019-2020 and/or 2020-2021, you're in luck! We have some left over for sale:

2019-2020- we have 15 left- $20 each

2020-2021- we have only 1 left- $25

PFA Restaurant Night

Country Harvest Restaurant and Coaches Old Fashion Ice Cream Parlor in Newbury Park are giving our school 20% of all sales back to our school.
