End of School Year
Friday, June 5: Teachers will give final assignments for the 4th quarter.
Monday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 9: Students complete any remaining 4th quarter assignments.
Wednesday, June 10: Students and parents have an opportunity to examine progress and grades assigned during 4th quarter. This is the final opportunity to communicate with your teacher if you wish to receive a grade instead of pass/incomplete for 4th quarter.
Thursday, June 11: Students complete a reflection activity to give feedback on their distance learning experiences and to establish some preliminary goals and suggestions for teachers to consider for the 2020-21 school year.
Friday, June 12 to Wednesday, June 17:
Our curricular experts will present "Springboard for Summer and Beyond." These are distance learning sessions designed to provide our students and families with ideas, strategies, and resources to support your academic and wellness growth over the summer. Explore virtual field trip options. Try some simple physical activities to energize you. Check out resources that will allow you to keep your skills fresh while having fun. Learn strategies to combat stress. You will love the distance learning sessions provided on the final days of the 2019-20 school year. *Special service providers will continue to support students' individual plans during this time.
Yearbook Delays
Although the Lewistown Elementary School yearbook was sent to the printer on time, Lifetouch experienced delays because they were not considered an essential business. Therefore, the yearbooks will not be here in time for distribution next week. We will contact families once they arrive for pick up this summer. Once a date and distribution plan is in place, that information will be shared with the LES community through FindOutFirst.
STUDENT BELONGING DROP-OFF/PICK-UP - WEEK OF JUNE 8

To Parents of Fifth Graders headed to Thurmont Middle:
We are looking forward to having your 5th grader join us next year at Thurmont Middle School. Since they were not able to come to TMS for Move-Up Day this year, we decided to bring Move-Up Day and our TMS School Tour to them virtually. Students will be viewing our very first virtual TMS Move-Up Day presentation with their 5th grade classes, but we wanted you to have the link, as well: 2020 Virtual TMS Move-Up Day and Tour
We were not able to provide access to the FAQ link via Youtube, as mentioned in the Move-Up presentation, so below you will find the link to record any questions that you or your son/daughter might have about coming to TMS: FAQ- 5th Grade Move-Up
Please consider joining us with your 5th grade student for one of two special live google meet sessions where we will attempt to answer all of the questions recorded on the FAQ and any others that you might have. The sessions will be held on Thursday, June 11, from 5-6 PM and Friday, June 12, from 8-9 AM. The link for the live google meet sessions is below.
TMS Live Google Meet and enter the code tms6thgrade.
(Please note that students must have a parent with them in order to participate in these live google meet sessions)
Please know, that in the midst of the changes and uncertainty, we are here and desire to help make your child's transition from elementary to middle school a smooth and successful one. Please reach out if there is anything we can do to help! We look forward to seeing many of you on June 11 or 12!

SUPPORT SERVICES FOR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES
Our world has shifted dramatically over the past few weeks. Students and and family members who are experiencing difficulty may wish to contact the Frederick County Mental Health Association (MHA).
- The MHA's Call Center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. From intervention, a caring and supporting voice at a moment of crisis, to connecting you to resources and information, dial 211.
- With the physical facility closed, MHA's Walk-in Behavioral Health Services has moved to an online tele-health platform. The program, and the services it provides, remains the same in all other aspects; and will still provide comprehensive safety/wellness planning, resource information, and referrals as appropriate.
- To access: Go to www.fcmha.org and click on the yellow banner at the top to access an intake form for the service. After completing and submitting the form, information to access the platform will be provided. This can be accessed via computer, tablet, or smartphone (must have access to internet/cellular data).
The Virtual Walk-in Behavioral Health Service is operational Monday - Friday from 10:00 am - 10:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm.
