Nevada got its name from the Spanish, Nevada meaning "snow-covered" after the Sierra Nevada ("snow-covered mountain range"). There are many things to do in Nevada that are really fun, even though Nevada is vast stretches or stark dessert, dotted with sage brush, craggy canyons, snow-capped mountains, occasional grasslands, lush valleys, and sparkling lakes and streams.
