THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE
Collecting items NOW through ADVENT
Pinelands Church will be collecting food items from now until Christmas for two important food distributions that are coming up (these are separate from our amazing food pantry). Last year with the help of many community partners we were able to supply food baskets and turkeys for Thanksgiving and Christmas to over 35 families. It was enough food for each family to not only give them Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner but to help them through many weeks with important food and pantry staples for their household. These food distributions stay local to our community through families in our local school district and the Mullica / Washington Township Community. It services many children whose families otherwise struggle with food insecurities.
Please donate turkeys if you are able and any non-perishable pantry items. We will take anything as long as the dates are not expired. If you plan on buying new items to donate please see the suggestion list for ideas. If you are unable to bring items to church please call Liz Rabush 609-412-5918 to arrange a pick up of food items and storage of turkeys. This is so important to our community, thank you for supporting this mission each year.
SUGGESTION LIST FOR FOOD / PANTRY DONATIONS:
Frozen Turkeys / Turkey Breasts
Boxed Potatoes / Boxed Rice
Stuffing Mix / Gravy
Cans of Soup / Cans of Tuna or Chicken
AppleSauce / Cranberry Sauce
Non perishable breakfast items - cereal / oatmeal
Cake / Brownie Mix / Oil if needed
Pancake Mix / Syrup
Peanut Butter / Jelly
“Usual” Condiments - Mustard, Mayo, Ketchup
Ice Tea / Lemonade Mix / Coffee / Juice
Macaroni & Cheese
Pasta / Sauce
Toiletries - Men/Women/Children
Sandwich size baggies / gallon size baggies
Canned Fruit / Jarred Fruit
Clorox / Lysol Wipes
Hand Sanitizer / Wet Ones / Baby Wipes
Salad dressing / Pickles / Olives
Tissues / Toilet Paper
Snack Items / Baby Items / Toddler Items
Juice boxes / Granola Bars
Trash Bags / Reusable Shopping Bags
Due to the ban on bags in NJ…if you have reusable shopping bags in excess (like me). Please consider donating them to our food drive for packing up food. Shoprite used to donate plastic and paper bags for us to pack items in each year. We are collecting reusable shopping bags to use in place of that donation. Thank you.

In Flanders Fields
by John McCrae
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you, from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow,
In Flanders fields.
