2018 Bond Update/Secure Front Entryway

February 2020

Dear Parents and Gaurdians:

I am very excited to share with you that our district will shortly begin work on the secured entryway to our school. This project has been made possible by the 2018 bond issue that was approved by our community.

When we return from Mid-Winter Break, you will see the work beginning with limited construction in the front of the building. There will be no change to how our students and visitors will be entering the building at this time.

The construction work will result in a few changes inside the school. A preschool classroom that is near the front of the building will be relocated to another area of the school. This move will allow Mrs. Sutter’s fifth-grade class to also be relocated to the upper elementary section of the building. Near the end of March, the front offices will be temporarily relocated to the Science Room while construction continues for the secure entryway.

Once completed, the new secure entryway will add an additional layer of security that is part of our commitment to provide a safe learning environment for Havel students and staff. The improvements are scheduled to be completed by this Fall.

Thank you again for your support of the 2018 bond issue and your patience as we work to ensure a safe learning environment for our students. You can see how the bond issue is impacting Havel and all of the schools across UCS on the district website: https://www.uticak12.org/2018bond/updates.

Have a great Mid-winter break. If you have any questions, please feel free to respond to this e-mail or call the office directly at 586-797-5200.

Sincerely,

Kristina Tepper
Principal
