Updates
Hello Families!
We are looking forward to seeing all of you at family conferences on November 21 and 22! Your child will be bringing home their first quarter report card on Monday November 14, so that you can review it and ask any questions you may have during the family conference. Please let your child’s teacher know if you do not receive their report card on Monday! And please reach out to your child’s teacher or to the office team if you have not yet scheduled a conference so that we can find a time that works for you!
Sincerely,
Ms. Thompson
Report Card Updates
Dear K-5 Parents,
For the past several years, PPS K-5 educators have used conference forms instead of the K-5 report card to communicate with families about student progress in the first quarter of school.
This year, however, we are returning to the use of first quarter report cards for all grades. This means that K-5 families will receive a first quarter report card for their children in mid-November. K-5 families will not also receive a separate conference form when they meet with their teachers for conferences later in November. Instead, conference conversations will use student work, fall assessment data, and the report card to discuss and share student progress.
Please look for communications from your child’s teacher about how to sign-up for a conference on November 21-22

HealthCare Insurance Open Enrollment for Families is Coming
The open enrollment period for individual and family health coverage runs from November 1 to January 15 in Oregon. Health insurance covers essential health benefits critical to maintaining individual health and treating illness and accidents. Health insurance helps to reduce medical and prescription drug costs, making health care more affordable and thus more accessible. Without insurance, people face considerable barriers in receiving health services. The Oregon Health Insurance Marketplace offers information, including types of coverage and links to free application assistance.

School Procedures
Do you have a child in both the Whitman K-5 program and Head Start? If so, we ask that you wait to pick up your K-5 child until the K-5 dismissal time at 3:00. We recognize that the slightly different dismissal times can be a challenge and are working to get this changed for the 23-24 school year. Thank you for your help!
