Quick Look Ahead
On to our next challenge! Cafeteria + Hallway
The school will earn a Stop-Drop-And-Game-It time on December 20th if we reach our growth goal for lunchroom expectations and maintain of 75% average for hallway expectations.
Below are the expectations. You will notice that as we build these expectations across different areas of the school, we are keeping common language.
A couple ideas that we shared with students in hopes of helping to reach the goal:
- Music played in the lunchroom to help students monitor their own voice levels - students often complain that the lunchroom is too noisy in the morning and during lunchtimes.
- Spacing out the disposal of trash so that students are less likely to over crowd an area and spill
- Manner Tips presented each day (compiled by students and staff) - we will read one each day during announcements
***If you have an extra speaker set you are willing to donate, we would love to continue the music in the mornings as well but our PA system is dated and doesn't provide the calm we are trying to prompt. We would love to continue the music in the hallway of the basement as well.
Lost and Found
This will be cleared out over Winter Break.
Cold Weather Reminders
- Label all items (mittens, hats, coats, snow pants, etc)
- Students must wear boots in order to go into the snow
- Make sure kids have layers
- We will go outside unless temperature with windchill is less than 0 degrees
Car Line/Morning Arrival
- Do not pass cars in the car line (see pic above)
- Slow down
- Give yourself a couple extra minutes during inclement weather
- Staff heads into the building at 8:15 (Door 1 remains unlocked until the late bell)
- The late bell rings at 8:20 and all tardy students must enter through Door 2 and stop at the office for a pass
