In this spectacular event, manjiro leaves his family to go to work. While on his fishing boat, a horrible storm comes and sweeps them away onto bird island. After weeks on the island barbarians, ameriacans, save them and spend time on the whale boat. After speaking to the captian, and asking questions, Manjiro decides to spend time in America. After about 3 years he leaves on the Franklin. When he returns Manjiro finds out that his little brother ,William, has passed away. After a while Terry takes Manjiro to California to dig up gold, for money to go home. Once finished Manjiro finally returns home. In the end they find out that Manjiro has the Heart of a Samuri!
