Track Change Requests

We are currently at capacity and there is no room in the traditional or virtual track and we are not anticipating anymore track changes.


If you would like, Santiago would be happy to add your name to the list of students/families requesting to change tracks. Please email Ms. Doran, counseling clerk (tdoran@cnusd.k12.ca.us), with your request.


If something changes, an administrator will contact you. Until then, please continue to follow your current schedule in your current track.

ATTENTION FRESHMEN!

The first round of Advanced Placement (AP) test registration begins on Monday, September 28, 2020 and continues through Friday, November 6, 2020. AP exam registration will re-open on Monday, November 16, 2020 and continue through March 12, 2021. Exams ordered from November 16 through March 12 will incur and additional $40 late fee per exam from the College Board. AP examinations are the culmination of the AP course. Therefore, Santiago High School holds the expectation that all students enrolled in AP courses will take the end of course exam in May. The attachment provides details on the registration process. If you have any further questions, please contact Dr. Smith, Assistant Principal.

PTA Reflections Theme

This year’s reflections theme is “I MATTER BECAUSE…”.


PTA Reflections welcomes students of all grades and all abilities to explore their inner artist. Students are encouraged to submit entries from the following categories: Dance Choreography; Film Production; Literature; Music Composition; Photography; Visual Arts and Special Artist.


Every student is recognized for his or her accomplishments with the opportunity for state and national awards and recognition.


Entries do count as extracurricular activity on college applications. Submissions are due October 16th. (there will be virtual submissions available)

CNUSD Grab & Go meals will once again be FREE for all students through December 31, 2020. Pick up at Santiago EVERY Monday from 11:30am until 1:30pm. Use the Drive thru service located in the bus turnout near the softball/baseball fields off of Foothill Parkway.

Attendance Update for Remote/Virtual

As we begin the 2020-2021 school year in a Remote/Virtual Learning environment we would like to update you regarding attendance requirements for CNUSD students.


State guidelines make daily attendance mandatory and define participation and attendance as the regular interaction in the academic process on the part of the student. We encourage you to ensure that your child(ren) is engaging and participating on a daily basis.


Attendance in school during Remote/Virtual Learning will be determined through the following process and may include:

• Evidence of participation in online activities

• Participation in online instruction

• Completion of regular assignments

• Contact between pupils or parent/guardian

· A pupil who does not participate daily shall be deemed absent

  • Select Online Registration

Mobile ID Card

The Mobile ID Card module in Student Connect is now available. This module allows a student to access their digital ID card on a smart phone using the Q Student Connection Mobile Application. Below is a quick “How To” guide that you can use to help students access this new feature on a phone.

Athletics Update

We are pleased to share on Tuesday, Sept. 1st, CNUSD Board of Education approved a plan allowing sports training and conditioning under specific circumstances. The adopted plan was developed by our CNUSD Athletic Directors, Athletic Trainers, and District staff.

The plan appropriately adheres to the most up-to-date health and safety guidance from the California Department of Public Health. The return to conditioning practices are currently scheduled to begin Oct. 1 however, staff is working to potentially move that date up, as possible. Further details will be shared by coaches and site Athletic Directors in the near future in regards to practice times and safety procedures.

What you need to know:

  • Sports that have been approved to return are the new 20-21 CIF fall sport teams (Football, Cross Country, Boys/Girls Volleyball, Boys/Girls Water Polo, Sideline Cheer)
  • Pre-Participation Physical Exam and Online Athletic Clearance submission is required prior to participation (more information below)
  • Practices are a conditioning model only (no equipment, no contact)
  • Practices will begin by October 1st
  • Athletic participation during this phase is voluntary and athletes that choose not to participate at this time will be held harmless towards future participation


We look forward to seeing our student-athletes back on campus doing what they love. More details will be shared by coaches and site Athletic Departments in the coming weeks.

Care Solace

  • Care Solace is an online resource with a live 24x7 concierge line meant to assist individuals in finding local mental health-related programs and counseling services.
  • To use Care Solace, individuals answer ten basic questions in order to receive an extensive list of referrals to applicable care providers. Care Solace takes into account all types of private insurance including Medi-Cal, Medicaid, and Medicare and those that have no insurance. The system also filters by age, gender, zip code, and special request.
  • Care Solace is now available for use by CNUSD students, staff, and families at no cost. Please note, this service is an optional resource available by choice and is not mandatory in any way. Care Solace does not require a user’s name, address, phone number, or date of birth.
