Wrap it Up!
I'm excited about the new series that will bring us to a close. It's a 4 part series entitled 'You & Me' by Brody Jespersen. This past Sunday, we kicked off with "Me & My Friends' which brought some good discussion about #squadgoals and what we are willing to do for others/what others are willing to do for us. And, in the end, how we bring each other closer to God. It's not always easy to go against the crowd to do what's right but the more we openly discuss it now, the more we empower our teens in their voice and in their faith. We will continue throughout May to discuss relationships with our parents, significant others, and with ourselves. I think it's a great summary to our year.
Thank you to EVERYONE who helped out with Barn Dance! To the decorators (the Paul family & Lindsey Sharpe), the cookie bakers (LWML Ladies), and the chaperones (Abbi Terrell, Sarah Jones, Aja Kessler, Brandon Price, Lynn Carpenter, Sherlyn Scott, Rachel Mayberry, and Jeff & Robin Knippa... I hope I didn't forget anyone!). Couldn't have done it without the help. It was a truly fun night and I hope to do it again next year. We had a great turnout! I am so proud of all the kids for getting out there and dancing their hearts out all night.
We have some fun events planned to wrap up the year. Please see below and mark your calendars. And look for fun events throughout the summer to keep the kids in fellowship!
One last note... I am honored to have served your children this past school year as your Interim Junior High Youth Ministry Director (such a mouthful!). The search committee is still in prayer and consideration of who will step full-time into this role and the role of Zion's High School Youth Ministry Director. As interviews continue, please be in prayer for the candidate God has earmarked to lead our teens and the future of the ministry. Our program has grown by leaps and bounds and I can't wait to see where it goes over the coming years. Great things are happening in Children's and Youth Ministries at Zion! I'm so glad that your child(ren) are a part of it!
Many blessings,
Leticia
