Congrats Doc Gottfried!

Dr. Mike Gottfried has been recognized as this year's Educator of the Year for Roxbury High School. For over a decade, Dr. Gottfried has served the students of Roxbury High School and the Roxbury Learning Community. Dr. Gottfried received a number of nominations from his colleagues, students, and parents. It is a well-deserved honor, and I know that Dr. Gottfried will work tirelessly to continue serving our students and community.

Earlier this year, the Roxbury Marching Gaels won NJ.com’s “Best Band in North Jersey” award, and because of this we are in the running against two other programs for winning “Band of the Year”! Voting closes tomorrow, so make sure you vote today and share with supporters of our program. We would greatly appreciate your support and of course, your votes!

SAT Prep

The Roxbury English department is excited to once again offer the summer SAT Team. We are excited to report that 100% of the students who took last year's course saw an increase in their scores. The course is an affordable and convenient option for Roxbury students preparing for the college application process. The interest meeting for the course is on April 19th and sign-up begins the next day. Please email kstellingwerf@roxbury.org if you have any questions about the course.

Alexa Wanamaker - Our NJSIAA Scholar Athlete

Over the weekend Roxbury Senior Alexa Wanamaker was awarded the NJSIAA Senior Scholar Athlete Award. Only 1 student per school in the state of New Jersey is awarded this scholarship. Alexa is the first tennis player to ever be awarded this honor. Here she is pictured with Coach Doyle. Alexa will be attending Susquehanna University this fall, majoring in Biomedical Sciences, and will be playing tennis for the River Hawks.
