Alive In Christ!
These guided discussions and listening sessions will take place this winter and spring. The first ones are based on the question, "What do we do well in our parish?" and will be held Monday, Jan. 25, Tuesday, Jan. 26, Sunday, Feb. 7 and Monday, Feb. 8.
Although you can attend any of these sessions, we thought the Tuesday, Jan. 26 5:00pm session (for stewards and liturgical ministries) or the Tuesday, Jan. 26 6:00pm session (for stewards with prayer and formation) will be perfect fits for our teachers, since we ALL are liturgical ministers and are involved in the formation of our students!
There is no homework and the sessions will be limited to no more than one hour. For more information, please visit the parish website sacredheartnorfolk.com and click on the Alive in Christ logo.
Prayer Requests and Servant Leaders of the Week!
I'll start by requesting prayers for Jim Rutten (he's a very active parishoner who owns Jim's Fine Wines and More). Jim fell on the ice coming to a Parish meeting this past Tuesday and broke his pelvis.
Pass on your prayer requests to me anytime and I'll include them in the next FF. E-mail is best!
Also, I need more nominations for our Servant Leader of the Week. These can be students, employees, parents, or any stakeholder who goes above and beyond his or her call of duty.
Catholic Schools Week
- Thank you to the Catholic Identity committee for planning the events for Catholic Schools Week, starting with the Soup Dinner that our Home & School Association will put on during our boys basketball game with Humphrey St. Francis. The alumni/faculty band will also be joining our regular pep band for that game, so make sure to make plans to come out, have some soup, watch some hoops, and listen/see some of your former students and colleagues in the band!
- One other item about that night....since we'll have two Catholic schools squaring off a couple days before CSW begins, is there anything we could do to celebrate our Catholicity together? Maybe do the school song at halftime? A joint prayer with students from NC and HSF? I am totally open to any and all ideas!
Call Bo Ramold to make your gift to the Fund for NC!
We REALLY want to see your name in next fall's Annual Report!
