MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL JACKSON
FCE Families,
Please be sure to read the Skylert carefully that was sent out yesterday regarding returning rental iPads. There are specific steps to take this weekend prior to the FCE ipad turn in dates next week. If your child is in K-2 and you opted for the rental ipad to stay at school, our staff will handle getting the steps completed and will send the brick and cord home with students. Thank you!
For the sixth year, the Department of Student Programs is recognizing schools who finished in the Top 10 of their enrollment class in ALL THREE elementary division academic contests offered by IASP (Academic Spell Bowl, Science Bowl, and M.A.T.H. Bowl) during the 2016-17 school year.
Of the 554 schools who participate in at least one Indiana Academic Competition in the Elementary Division, only 96 are able to field a team in all three programs, and of those, only five are receiving this Award of Excellence:
Central Elementary School, Valparaiso
Dixie Bee Elementary School, Terre Haute
Fall Creek Elementary School, Fishers
Hamilton Southeastern Intermediate & Jr. High School, Fishers
Hoosier Road Elementary, Fishers
INNOVATION LAB DONATIONS NEEDED!
There are some exciting things in the works at FCE! Next year we will have our first ever Innovation Lab! This will be a part of each student’s K-4 specials rotation. Students will experience the Innovation Lab once every 4 days during their specials block. Our inventors will be constructing, creating, collaborating, exploring, thinking critically and problem solving. We have been busy purchasing lots of resources and materials to support this space and we need your help.
We would like to begin to continually collect simple items for students to use. There will be a donation box in the hallway outside of the office to drop off any items you may have laying around the house that we can use to be innovative in the year to come.
Here is a list of suggested items we are looking for:
Markers, Pipe cleaners, Rubber bands, Masking tape, Raw noodles, Clear cups, Toilet paper tubes, Foil, Straws, Toothpicks, Craft sticks, Egg cartons, Washers, Yarn, Rocks,
Fishing wire, Fasteners , Bottle caps, Paper plates, Play dough, Tissue paper, Newspaper,
Coffee filters, Q-tips,
We are excited about this opportunity!! Thank you for any help you can provide!
WE CONTINUE TO TAKE ON-LINE ENROLLMENTS FOR NEXT YEAR!
