Maple Room News

Children at Work 5.2 - 5.6

Welcome Back

Our newsletter this week will focus primarily on explorative and imaginative play. These two elements of learning have expanded greatly since the beginning of our time together - nearly two years ago. Through our exploration block, children are now delving more purposefully into their passions, diversifying their interests, sharing their understanding of curriculum through rich and imaginative play, construction, drawing, and writing, and perhaps most importantly - connecting to one another through meaningful, child-centered activity.

We hope that you enjoy this week's collection of photos. Please also look carefully through the latter part of this newsletter, as it contains important information regarding upcoming trips and school activities.

The Peace Center can provide sanctuary for those struggling with strong emotions. While in this area you can write reflectively, have solitude, or take a few mindful breathes. These children will use their talents and research to redesign our 'take-a-break' spot of our classroom in the week's to come.
