EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT
Central Office Communications: Week of January 17, 2021
OUR CURRENT REALITY
Hi Egg Harbor Township School Community,
We look forward to our students entering the buildings once again. Having the last two weeks serving as a district-wide quarantine period, we are ready to offer our Group A/Group B hybrid schedules to students. As you know our district health and safety protocols are aligned with the guidelines and criteria that have been set forth by the New Jersey Department of Education’s Road Back to School Restart and Recovery Plan. It is very important that every parent adheres to not sending a child to school who is feeling anything but well, staff members fill out a daily health form, everyone practices social distancing, wears a mask, and practices good hygiene by frequently washing hands, using sanitizer, and keeping their hands away from their face. I kindly ask parents to review these necessary protocols with their child to ensure we are on the same page upon return to the buildings. This pandemic has caused uneasiness and concern for all of us, however being a team player and engaging in best practices for health and safety, keeps everyone safer.
We continuously listen to concerns, monitor data, and work every day on revising plans to meet student and family needs while keeping our students and staff safe. Our focus this week is to get our schools up and running again in a safe and healthy educational environment for students and staff.
We are #EHTStrong! #EHTReady!

CLIMATE & CULTURE
The culture of our schools includes our school improvement efforts to increase student achievement for ALL students. Where with Every Hand Together, Every child, Everyday is provided a relevant learning experience. Through professional development opportunities we are building an effective learning culture where students are provided a safe learning environment. Our teachers collaborate in professional learning communities to review student progress in order to provide ALL students with the opportunity to learn at high levels. We have a district -wide initiative that includes individualized interventions through the RTI process to assist ALL students with learning. We know that in order to successfully educate each student, we must be cognizant of each student’s individual learning needs. This can only be accomplished if we work together to eliminate any predictability of achievement disparities by race, ethnicity, gender, language, disability, and/or economics. All faculty and staff participated in equity training during our professional learning days. The high school multicultural club will be preparing to join the district equity committee to participate in collaborative discussions and event planning. Together, we can achieve more!
