3rd-5th Awards Assemblies
4th - 2/8 @ 2:45 PM
5th - 2/9 @ 2:45 PM
Ashlee will send an email with the information that you will need to complete and return for the assemblies/awards. First year teachers will need guidance for this process.
Teachers are required to contact parents if their child is receiving an award at the awards assembly.
NOTE: THE THIRD GRADE ASSEMBLY IS A CHANGE FROM THE ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED DATE/TIME. This was changed because we do not have the parking to accommodate everyone at this time.
PLEASE be sure to include a pronunciation on the form that Ashlee sends to you for any child's first/last name that is not self-explanatory. For example: Read (Reed) or (Red)? Please provide us with how the name is pronounced! :)
Check/Double Check/Check/Double Check the names of students receiving awards. It is embarrassing for all involved when students names are left off of a list.
My expectations for student behavior in assemblies is very high. Please be sure to review these expectations with students. In addition, please be sure to address behavior concerns as subtly and quietly as possible in assemblies, but please address them!
Thank you for all that you are doing to help us prepare for our first awards assembly!
What Failing Students Want Us To Remember (Article from Edutopia.org)
Please use the link below to access the article then read and discuss with your team. I am also attaching a form that you can use to write down your students' names and list their strengths, talents and interests. Please use this for your personal reference to help you get to know your students (beyond the academics) and let's see what happens...
