November Eastview Elementary Update
7:55-2:35
What's Happening This Week:
Dear Eastview Families,
As we enter the month of November, we have much to be thankful for this school year. There are several important events and initiatives taking place at Eastview Elementary School that I would like to share with you.
Eastview Veterans Day Program - "Remembrance"-November 7 On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 1:30 P.M., our fifth and sixth-grade students will be presenting the Eastview Veterans Day Program, entitled "Remembrance." This event is a heartfelt tribute to show our appreciation and support for our veterans. It is held in honor of all those who have served in our country's military. We strongly encourage all students to invite a veteran, so we can express our gratitude for their service and sacrifices.
Scholastic Book Fair - November 6-10 We are excited to host our first Scholastic book fair from November 6th to November 10th. Students can bring cash or checks to make purchases, or parents can load money electronically through eWallet, a convenient digital payment account that allows you to fund your child's purchases in advance. Please note that Scholastic charges sales tax. To ensure smooth handling, please label book fair money with your child's name and amount in a sealed envelope and notify your child's teacher.
American Education Week - November 13-17 American Education Week is a time to celebrate and appreciate the vital role that education plays in our lives. It has a rich history, with its origins dating back to a joint effort by the National Education Association and the American Legion in 1919. We will be observing American Education Week from November 13th to 17th. This is an excellent opportunity to recognize the accomplishments and needs of our public schools and gain the support of the community in meeting those needs.
Important Dates
- Picture Retake Day: November 13th
- Mid-Terms for Quarter 2 sent home: November 15th
- Thanksgiving break: November 22-24th
- Thanksgiving break provides a perfect opportunity for all of us to gather with family and friends, enjoy a traditional meal, and express gratitude for the blessings in our lives. It's also a time to consider service to others in the community, which leads to our next important topic, our Student Council "Fruit" Drive.
Eastview Elementary Student Council "Fruit" Drive-November 27-December 15 We are excited to announce the Eastview Elementary Student Council Food Drive, which will run from November 27th to December 15th. We will focus on collecting canned fruit but will also accept other non-perishable items to support our local pantry at Little Spartan's Preschool. This pantry is available to all families in need. Your contributions can make a significant difference in our community, so we kindly request your support for this important initiative.
Thank you for your ongoing support and engagement in our school community. We look forward to a month filled with gratitude, celebration, and meaningful contributions to our local community. If you have any questions or need further information about any of these events, please don't hesitate to reach out to our school office at 765.825.5541.
Warm regards,
Kate Charlton, principal
