Your 157c Parent Teacher Organization - May 2020 Edition
School is out for summer!
We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe and healthy! School is officially out for summer at the end of the day. It has been a wild ride these last few months, to say the least, but we made it through. Thank you to the teachers, staff, and administrators for helping us navigate during this time. Thank you to all of you! We all had to work through areas not familiar to most of us. There were good days and bad days; easier days and harder days, but the one constant was we were all in it together. Give yourself a great, big hug - you absolutely deserve it!
This will be the last newsletter for the 2019-2020 school year. We will see you all back in August. Wishing you all a safe, healthy, and relaxing summer! Enjoy!
FSP Meeting
Our last FSP meeting was held earlier this month. Thank you to all who attended. We elected the FSP Board for the 2020-2021 school year.
Theresa Larkin - President
Nicole Pacini - Co-Vice President
Lauren Gray - Co-Vice President
Heather Nass - Treasurer
Katie Sweeney - Secretary
We want to thank Desiree Lavin for her service on the FSP Board as Vice President and Co-President. She has been amazing to work with day in and day out and her commitment and dedication to the students and teachers of District 157C is like no other. We will miss her on the board, but we know she will be right there with us volunteering and helping along the way next year. THANK YOU, DES!
Thank you to all the chair and co-chairs for all of their hard work and dedication in making sure fundraisers, lunches, events and everything in between were planned, carried out and running smoothly. We could not have begun to do any of this without you. Thank you!
Thank you to all the volunteers who came in to help, sometimes even last minute. We know time is precious and important and we appreciate you for sharing your time with us. Thank you!
Questions from Families Answered
Many of you reached out with questions about various school related things. Well, we have the answers for you.
How will I be able to get my child's belongings?
Teachers have been busy packing up your child's belongings and a pick up date will be scheduled for sometime in June for you to come into the schools to pick up. You will be assigned a date to visit all schools needed in one trip. Please stay tuned for those details from the district office.
How can I send a gift to my child's teacher(s), bus driver, office staff?
When you come in to pick up your child's belongings on your designated date in June, you will be able to leave a gift with the school office and they will be sure to get it to the recipient. Please make sure the gift is labeled with the recipients name. Another option is you can email an e-gift to the teacher's email address.
Can I donate gently used books to the school libraries?
Yes, you absolutely can. Gently used books can be dropped off when you come in to pick up your child's belongings in early June. There will be boxes out for you to place the books in. The librarians send their thanks for your donations!
How can I donate my hot lunch money to FSP?
Many of you have reached out asking how to donate your hot lunch and smoothie money to the FSP. Due to the complexity of the refund process, all hot lunch and smoothie refunds will be done by the district office and returned to you. If you would like to donate to the FSP you can do so on the district website at www.fsd157c.org. Go to Online Payment/Shop/FSP Unfundraiser and you can make your donation there. We thank you in advance for your generosity!
Teacher Appreciation Week
Thank you to all who participated in our Kindness and Teacher Appreciation Week videos. They came out amazing! Special thanks to Mr. Thielen for helping us put them together. We could not have done this without him.
Thank you, again, to all the teachers, staff and administrators. Your dedication, patience and hard work are appreciated by all of us. This school year tested all of us, but without skipping a beat you met the challenge and helped us all get through. We can't thank you enough for all that you do. You are truly AMAZING! We look forward to seeing all of you in the fall.
Here are the videos in case you missed them or just want to view them again.

Remind 101 FOR 157c Booster Events
Remind 101 App is a reminder system to send out quick, short reminders via text or email about upcoming news. The 157C Boosters (Band, Orchestra, Athletic, Chorus, Family School Partnership & Education Foundation) use Remind 101 to send out reminders regarding hot lunches, ticket sales, volunteer needs, order deadlines, etc. New restrictions from Remind have forced us to create multiple groups to keep our audience for each group under 150 people. Below are the different groups created for the 157C Booster Remind 101.
Please choose the one or two that apply to you.

About 157-c Family School Partnership (FSP)
We are the 157c Parent Teacher Organization. We are non-profit. We provide free family events as well as parent support, teacher appreciation, assembly funds, and curriculum enrichment. All parents with students in 157c are encouraged to help us. We can only do as much as we can with the volunteers that help. If you prefer not to support our fundraisers you can always support us by donating to our un-fundraiser. You can do this via Rev-Trak under FSP.
