Sledding During Afternoon Recess

Permission slips for sledding are due in the office by Monday, January 14th. Each class will have an opportunity to enjoy sledding on a rotation basis. Your child must be dressed properly (snowpants, boots, gloves, hat, etc.) to participate in this fun activity. Anyone who does not return this form will not be able to go sledding. If you have any questions, please call the school office (995-7500).

Inside the Idea Lab with Mrs. Stephens

It’s third quarter now, which means all students will visit the Idea Lab twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays. We had a GREAT first day back to our (freshly painted!) Idea Lab on Monday. Grades 2-5 worked on advanced coding skills at hourofcode.com while Kindergarten and first grade built letters and words from Legos. They were incredibly proud of their creations, as you can see from the photos below!

On Thursday each class brainstormed what ingredients are necessary to create a great school district, and the thoughtfulness that went into students’ answers was truly impressive. This activity was in preparation for a top secret project which will be revealed soon! We then checked out books, read the latest magazines that arrived over winter break, and finished up all of our holiday-themed puzzles. Second and third graders were especially proud to complete several of the more complex puzzles that were mostly assembled by fourth and fifth graders before break.

As we adjust to the return to school after a long winter break, please remember to send your children’s library books back to school; many pink “overdue” notices went home today. Students may return books ANY day; they do NOT have to wait until Thursday to bring them back.

Stay tuned for more exciting changes happening in our Idea Lab!

It's Cold Weather Time Again

Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately to participate in outdoor recess (i.e., coat, hat, gloves, boots, snow pants, etc.). As stated in the handbook: All students are expected to go outside unless the temperature is below 20 degrees or the wind chill is below 10 degrees. Generally, if a child is able to ride the bus and attend school, (s)he should also be able to go outside at recess. The only exceptions are: a physician’s request, a written parent request for the day the child returns to school following an illness, or a request by the teacher or Principal.

School Fees

Fees for the 2018/19 school year are past due. Parents can log into Infinite Campus Parent Portal to view your student's fees; select "Fees" tab.
