The Fundamental Five
Sean Cain emphasizes the power of critical writing. Research says that the critical writing activity of identifying similarities and differences can increase student performance by 46%. Students, who think critically use writing as an important tool both for communicating important ideas and for learning... to deepen their understanding of important concepts and to clarify interrelationships between concepts. Are your students using their science, ELAR and math journals to write critically? What does this look like in your classroom?
Please remember that lesson plans are due by 9:00 pm on Sunday. Lesson plans can be attached. For every subject that you teach please attach the lesson plan. Seed questions should be in your lesson.
Check base with your "Martha" this week. What are they working on in writing? How are they spending the holidays?
PLC's - Prek- 2 will discuss mini lessons in Writer's Workshop. 3-4 will look at data and hot spots from unit assessments.

12/10 Faculty Meeting- 2:55- Jordan Adams will be guiding you through the grant process. This is a great time to ask questions and understand the grant process. Each team is expected to submit at least one idea for a grant.
12/11- Capacity Team Meeting 8:30-11:30 (Steven) 1:00-3:00 (Vicki) at the ESC; PTA/4th Grade musical "Joust"
12/12 CATTS (Tami, Angela, Cheryl, Erin, Monique) lunch with Admin team in PLC room, 12:30-1:00; #hartmanpride peprally 1:45-2:15; Staff Christmas party at the Klingbeil's house from 7-9 pm.
