Back to School Message
FIVE teachers and staff are excited to welcome our students to school on Sept. 8, 2020. Join us in celebrating this first day using the hashtag #D5FirstDay to showcase your student in his/her virtual learning space.
Grades K-5 Important Information
Schedule
Teachers have shared the daily schedule for students with parents in their welcome email and/or during Meet the Teacher. These schedules are individualized by teacher for their classes to include related areas, recess, and lunch.
Testing Reminders (First 10 days of school):
- Kindergarten students will participate in math and reading FAST assessments. This is conducted virtually or face to face. Home schools will share additional testing information for students.
- Grades 1-5 will participate in the face-to-face administration of MAP testing, unless a parent opts out. Home schools have shared additional information with families regarding MAP testing including the testing schedule. All Elementary schools are administering the MAP Reading Assessment 9/9/20 and the MAP Math Assessment 9/16/20. Please reach out to your child's home school with any questions regarding testing and procedures regarding coming to the school for testing.
Grades 6-8 Important Information

Your child's schedule was sent to parents on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020. If you did not receive a schedule, please reach out to your child's counselor at his/her home school.
Welcome email
Welcome emails from your child's teachers have been sent to students. Teachers outlined the following in their email: Information about the teacher, the course, and how to access class the first day.
Testing
FIVE students in Grades 6 - 8 will MAP test virtually in their ELA and math classes during the first ten days of school.

Your child's schedule was sent to parents on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020. If you did not receive a schedule, please reach out to your child's counselor in his/her home school.

Testing
FIVE students in Grade 9 will MAP test virtually during the first ten days of school in their English and math classes.
The Center and FIVE students Hours for The Center are 8:40 - 11:40 and 12:30 - 3:30. FIVE students who have a 2nd or 6th block at the Center will have lunch and travel time prior to the start of their 3rd or 7th block. FIVE teachers are aware that students will be prepared to begin their 3rd or 7th block at 12:34.
Breakfast and Lunch
There will be 3 meal pick-up sites for students. Meal pick up will be on Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30 AM at three school locations: Chapin High, Dutch Fork High and Irmo High. Meals are available to all FIVE students. There will be five days worth of breakfast and lunch meals provided at no charge. Please print this sign for your car to use when picking up meals. If you are unable to print the sign, please request one from your home school.
