OBTAINING PERSONAL ITEMS FROM THE JUNIOR HIGH
We understand concerns about obtaining personal items from the campus. The district is actively working through logistics for a process that will ensure the safety of everyone involved. This process will need to honor ongoing guidance from local and state public health officials regarding when it is safe for us to reopen our facilities. We will share more information about this process with our LVISD community as soon as possible.
CHOICE BOARD UPDATE-NO PAPER COPIES
Local, state, and federal public health officials continue to recommend social distancing and other safety measures that involve reducing human contact to prevent exposure to COVID-19. La Vernia ISD is committed to following this guidance in order to promote the health, safety, and well-being of our students, staff, and community. In keeping with this commitment, LVISD will no longer distribute paper choice board packets to our community as this process involves a high level of exposure and risk to our staff and families. This includes canceling our previously scheduled paper packet distribution times on Monday, April 20.
Please get with your students teacher if you need help with activities or with navigating the choice boards.

Students please make sure you are meeting weekly requirements with each Choice Board for ALL of your classes. Assignment submission is monitored daily (ALL classes)! Don’t get behind! Access choice boards by clicking on the link below then clicking on “Junior High.” Assignments are due by 9:00 PM.

MEAL PICK-UP CHANGES: NOW TWICE A WEEK!
Beginning with our Wednesday and Friday meal pickup opportunities this week (April 8th and 10th), parents who want to pick up meals without their students in the vehicle must present at least one form of documentation from the list below for each student who needs meals:
- Individual student report card or attendance records
- Copy of a letter or email previously sent from the school attended by each student
- Individual student birth certificate
- Student ID document from the school attended by each student
This adjustment will help ensure that we are able to continue meeting the needs of as many LVISD students and families as possible in an equitable way and follow guidelines set by state officials.
As a reminder, LVISD is now offering twice-weekly meal package pickup on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM in the Intermediate campus bus lane (369 FM 1346 South, La Vernia, TX 78121). All current LVISD students are welcome to use this service and meal packages will continue to come at no charge to our students regardless of meal eligibility status.
Contact adella.freemanwright@lvisd.org should you have questions about our student meal pickup program.
