THANK YOU TO THE SKAGGS PTA!!

The Skaggs PTA recently purchased bean bag chairs for the students to enjoy while they visit the library. The kids were very excited to see them and also want to express their gratitude for the "cozy" addition to the library!

We are so close...only $140 left to reach our total!!

Please join our initiative in bringing the opportunity to use amazing technology in the library for Makerspace. Your contribution will provide monetary support in purchasing materials such as: conductive thread, circuit boards, etc. The Makerspace is an extension of our daily learning allowing time for students to find their passion through creation and collaboration.

Already students created journals to keep ideas, sketches, research etc.. and just this week students started decoupage, LEGOS structures, knitting, knotting, chess and remaking a game /toy. The great part of all of this, is that kids are thinking outside of the box, collaborating and learning more about themself and their personal interests.

New Features on Morning Announcements

The morning announcements are such a great way to start each day at Skaggs! There have been a few new features added make the news more inclusive of our student and teacher community. Outside the library there are designated areas where students use Post-It Notes to write messages. Here's what is new:

Marvelous Monday- students share a "celebration" or something marvelous in their life

Techno-Tuesday- students share a great way that they have used technology

Wonder Wall Wednesday- students write a question that they "wonder" about

Thankful Thursday- students share messages of gratitude

The announcers choose one message to read each day on the announcements; and occasionally we will feature the author of the message to be a guest on the show. This is a great way to not just bring the World to Skaggs, but bring Skaggs to the World and showcase our fellow Skaggs Stars!
