LECC TIGER TALK
Loveland Early Childhood Center eNewsletter July 13, 2021
Meet our new Principal~ Mrs. Gehring
Dear Loveland Early Childhood Center Tiger Cub Families,
It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the new Principal of LECC to you all! It is an honor to have the opportunity to lead this team and community of learners. LECC is in a unique position as we establish the foundation for developing and nurturing relationships with our Loveland students and families in the initial stages of their education experiences. Along with the LECC team, who are exceptional in their commitment to building positive student experiences and meaningful learning opportunities, I look forward to meeting your student this August! Keep an eye out for communication regarding your Preschool or Kindergarten student’s first day of school, as we operate on a staggered start schedule for beginning of the year transitions.
Here is a bit about me!
Outside of the school day, I am the proud mom to three amazing kids: Elizabeth ( 9 y.o.), Natalie (7 y.o.), and Henry, who my husband and I welcomed to our family in April 2021.
We have two dogs and two fish...and my kids are constantly looking to add more puppies and fish to the family! Eek!
In our free time, you can find us running between kids’ sports, creating art masterpieces, taking piano lessons, and hanging out with our family and friends!
My professional background includes teaching at the elementary and high school levels as an Intervention Specialist, serving as a district administrator overseeing student services, and teaching graduate level courses as an adjunct instructor.
- Most recently, I was the assistant principal at Loveland Middle School.
I do hope that you and your family are able to take some time this summer to rest, recharge, and have A LOT of fun together. I will see you all soon!
It’s a great day to be a Tiger!
Sara L. Gehring

School Transportation 2021-22 School Year
Due to the pandemic, many of our families chose to transport their children to and from school last year. For the 21-22 school year, we want to encourage students and families to make use of school bus transportation as they normally would have pre-pandemic. While the opportunity to drop off and pick up your child directly from school is always possible, the traffic challenges that accompany a large volume of parent traffic create issues for us here at school that our school grounds can not accommodate. While we all managed this situation last year the best we could, it inevitably led to students reporting to school tardy at an increased rate, as well as other inherit school grounds issues.
We appreciate your consideration of this as you determine transportation logistics for your child this school year.
If your student is currently in K-7 and did not ride the bus during the 2020-21 school year, and intends on riding next year, please fill out this form.
Mask Policy Update
During the June 3 work session, the Loveland City Schools Board of Education voted unanimously to approve a new mask policy for the district. When Ohio Governor Mike DeWine lifted the state’s COVID-19 mask requirements, the decision-making power returned to local school boards. The new policy aims to balance parental and individual decision-making with the requirement that the district complies with the law.
The policy reads in part, “the decision to wear face coverings/masks on school buses, in school buildings, or at other school events, will be left to adult individuals and parents/guardians of K-12 students.”
The Board is also committed to complying with the law and any mandates of the Governor, state and local health departments, and the Ohio Department of Education. The policy also reads, “when any of these Directing Entities requires staff, students, and visitors to wear face coverings/masks while attending school, reporting to work at a school, or visiting a school, the District’s Administration will follow and enforce such directives.”
“Thank you to the parents who worked with us during this important process to guide the Board to do what makes sense for our students, parents, staff, and community,” Superintendent Brad Neavin said.
The full policy as adopted can be viewed on BoardDocs.
