SUMMER

Summer School!

Summer School enrollment is right around the corner! Summer School session will be held from June 5th to June 29th. Enrollment will open up on March 1st and end April 30th. Information regarding classes and enrollment can be found HERE. See your counselor if you have questions about course recommendations.

What Are You Doing This Summer?

Check out the KU Nursing Academy by clicking HERE! How about volunteering at Camp Quality? Camp Quality Greater Kansas City is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving children with cancer and their families, at no cost. Go HERE for details! First Friday's Candy Winners

Congratulations to our students who guessed the closest number of candy pieces in the container at the Counseling Department's First Friday's Event for March. The following students were winners: Mason Jeffers guessed 784 M&M's and the actual count was 818. Peyton Norris guessed 102 Gold "coins" and the actual count was 104. Athena Statler guessed 250 Jelly Beans and the actual count was 287. Presley Jackson and Mason Lauria both guessed 126 Starbursts and the actual count was 127!! David Dao and Thomas Pulliam both guessed 101 Jolly Ranchers and the actual count was 97. Thank you to all who participated. Winners come pick up your winning candy jar in the counseling office!

Student Ambassador Application

Hello Sophomores and Juniors!

The counseling department is looking for Student Ambassadors for the 2023-2024 school year.


Student Ambassadors help the counseling department in a variety of ways:

1. Tour/escort new students through the building

2. Help parents at Back To School Night and Parent/Teacher conferences

3. Help at the annual Academic Fair, Off-Campus Opportunities Fair, College Fair, and other counseling sponsored events.

As a Student Ambassador you will have an opportunity to work closely with the counselors, other students, meet and help new students, and help the LHS community. If you are interested, please complete this application by April 7, 2023. Late applications will not be accepted.


Applicants will be required to complete an interview later in April or early May. If you have questions please email Mr. Yarasheski at brian.yarasheski@lps53.org

Kansas City College Fair

Save the date! KC AREA COLLEGE FAIR - FREE FOR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES! Thursday, April 6, 2023 - 6:00-7:30pm

GPACAC College Fairs are free and open to the public. College fairs provide an opportunity for you to connect with colleges and universities from all over in one convenient location STUDENTS:
Register in advance with StriveScan by filling out a quick form on your phone or computer. You may sign up in advance or at the door on the day of the college fair. After you sign up, StriveScan will send a barcode via text message and email. At the college fair, present your barcode to college representatives to receive more information about that college. After the college fair, students will receive an email with a report on all of the colleges and representatives you met along with contact information and social media profiles.

Missouri Leadership Seminar (MLS) Attn: Sophomores

Planning is now underway for the Missouri Leadership Seminar! This is a free three day event June 2nd-4th on the campus of University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. This is for current sophomores who would like to develop their leadership skills. Students are exposed to panels of professional speakers on various topics and issues. Check out the MLS website HERE for more information. Sophomore students interested in applying need to fill out the MLS Application by March 27th.

Senior Signing Program

Liberty High School is excited to hold the fifteenth annual Senior Signing Program on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 3:30. This program is intended to recognize students who receive academic scholarships and/or other merit awards to further their education. This could include, but is not limited to: performance and visual arts, debate and forensics, ROTC and military academies, leadership, service, or other extracurricular areas as well as academic scholarships from colleges/universities or scholarships awarded by businesses and service organizations. Athletic honors are not recognized at this ceremony, a separate ceremony is held for these awards. For more information and to find out how to submit your intent to participate, click HERE.
