Burk Bobcat Weekly Newsletter
September 19, 2022
Principal's Post
Burk Families,
We are in the final two weeks of our first quarter of school. Our faculty, staff, and students have done great things this quarter supporting our students in meeting academic and social goals. You will have an opportunity to learn more about your child's progress when you attend your Parent/Teacher Conference this week. Please note this Thursday and Friday, September 22-23, students will be released at 11:55 AM.
Our first quarter will come to an end on Friday, September 30th. Students will be dismissed at 11:55 AM. Fall break runs from October 3rd through October 14th. Students return to school on Monday, October 17th.
Safety Reminders - For all of us the safety of our children is a top priority. Please remember when you're driving on campus to slow down, watch for people in the crosswalks, do not park or stop in the red curbing areas, and be patient and considerate of the crossing guards and staff who are supervising. If we work together on these things our arrival and dismissal procedures should go smoothly, and ensure that everyone is safe. A reminder to all visitors, you are required to sign in at the front desk and wear a visitor's sticker while on campus.
I hope to see many of you when you're on campus for your conferences this week and at future school gatherings.
Stay well.

Health and Safety Update
1. Students are not permitted to be on campus until 7:40AM. There are no crossing guards or supervision on campus until that time.
2. Parents, if you will be staying with your child on the playground or cafeteria we ask that you sign in at the office and get a Visitor's Sticker.
3. Arrival/Dismissal Locations. Hopefully you are aware of the K/1, 2/3 and 4-6 Grade Arrival and Dismissal Locations. If we adhere to these locations the flow of traffic runs smoothly.
4. Dismissal. We ask that you stay off campus at Dismissal time and pick up your child at their Grade Level gate.
5. Dogs and animals are not permitted on campus. many of our students have pet allergies, are not comfortable with animals and at times animals get scared with the large number of us on campus. Service animals are an exception.
