Reminders and Opportunities
- It's SRSS time again. We have created spreadsheets for each of your classes. Please have the SRSS completed by November 1st. They were shared with you last week or you can access the SRSS here.
- Please check out this great opportunity called Growing Up 2020: Walk in the Park or Social Jungle? New Ways to Manage Unfriendly Behavior and Prevent Bullying by Kids Empowered. If you are interested in attending (I'm REALLY thinking about going myself), please let me know and we might be able to cover the registration fee for you. Click the following link for more information: https://survivingthesocialjungle.com/
- As a reminder PTA sets aside $4 per student to go towards field trips. Please keep this in mind when you are planning!

The Power of Being Seen
I love the first half of this article on the Edutopia website. It is all about why forming meaningful connections with students is so important!

DATA COLLECTION
“When teaching and learning is visible, there is a greater likelihood of students reaching higher levels of achievement.” ~John Hattie
As we are getting close to the end of the card marking and the end of the month and because several of you have been asking me about all our data collection shared docs, this is just a reminder as to where to find which document. We are aware that this year there will be a shift to using Illuminate for our data collection and until that is up and running, we will continue to use our shared data sheets.
If you haven’t already, be sure to save this link to your Drive.
In Amerman’s Data Dock you will access to data from previous years and of course you will find this year’s trackers.
The window for F&P BAS officially starts this week and you have till November 1st to complete and enter data.
Many of you have already given your writing pre-assessments for narrative, informational and opinion, please remember to add both the range and scale scores to this tracker. You do have till the end of November for data entry.
If you need to locate the prompts and rubrics check in here.
Remember the SRSS window is now opened.
And finally, remember we are collecting school-wide data on lead strategies. You can add your class’ data to this document.
Welcoming Rituals and Optimistic Closures
I am seeing some wonderful examples of both of these throughout the building! Thank you so much for implementing these into your daily routine...they're an integral part of our Social/Emotional goal for the year. Please see the links below for more examples of Welcoming Routines and Optimistic Closure Routines:
Click here for the the CASEL Three Signature Practices Playbook. It has LOTS of suggestions for Welcoming Rituals and Optimistic Closures

Now that I've been observed...how do I upload and label evidence into pivot again?
1. Upload, name, and code evidence to a specific indicator.
2. To check where you have evidence by indicator.
