Timberwolf Talk March 2023

A Newsletter for Parents, Staff & Students

A Note from our Principal:

Greetings JME Families,

We are starting the month off with celebrating “Read Across America” week! During this week students are enjoying books being read to them by our community members, such as Martinez Mayor Brianne Zorn, Contra Costa Fire Station 14, ARF Pet Hug Pack, Margret Smith/CCC Youth Librarian, Lt. Patrick Salamid, and MUSD Superintendent Helen Rossi. Students are sharing their love for reading by showing their school spirit through wearing neon colors, wearing their favorite hat, and etc…

During the month of March, we are excited to celebrate Women’s History Month, provide grade level Field Trips, promote the STEM Fair, and have our JME Student Art & Music Showcase/Community Social Event (Open House). We are looking forward to engaging with our parent volunteers this month and seeing large numbers of participating JME families at our PTA planned events.

We are planning a March Madness Attendance Competition amongst our MUSD Elementary Schools. We will track our weekly attendance to calculate the number of students that attended school. Then at the end of the month we will tally the weekly percentages to determine a winning school. The winning school will receive a special gift from the principal. We’ve been keeping attendance in the 90th percentile so far. Let’s see what we can do, go Timberwolves!

Happy Month of March!
