May Newsletter

Spring weather is finally here and we are looking forward to many upcoming outdoor events at Nayatt School. The entire student body and staff participated in Project ACES (All Children Exercising Simultaneously) on Tuesday. Ms. Scanlon led everyone in a fun-filled dance and exercise. To continue Physical Education and Health Week, all children at Nayatt will have the opportunity to participate in a school-wide fitness and health event during the annual Jog-A-Thon on Friday, May 8th. Be sure to remind children to wear fitness clothes and bring a non-perishable food item to school to donate to the Barrington Tap In. We would like to thank you very much for your thoughtful acknowledgements for Teacher's Appreciation Week. We also appreciate all of you for your dedication to education and your support of learning throughout the year.

Social Studies & Science

The warm weather brings lots of excitement for our scientists! We are having such fun with our Organisms kit as we welcome the arrival of many exciting things. Our student-scientists have created terrariums, aquariums and are learning all about the organisms which will inhabit their creations. Guppies, snails, pill bugs and Bess Beetles are making themselves right at home in our classrooms! We have planted seeds and enjoy checking their progress each day. The sunny skies are really helping them to grow! In Social Studies we have been studying American Symbols and will soon learn about the significance and importance of Memorial Day.
