Academic Excellence and Achievement Every Scholar, Every Class, Every Day!
Greetings Mighty Bulldogs,
Please plan to join me for my 1st monthly Coffee and Conversation on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 8am.
Our first PBIS activity was a huge success; thank you to our scholars who were brave enough to share with their classmates and BES staff things that are special and to our PBIS committee for hosting this event. I look forward to our next event. Please remind your scholar(s) of the daily expectations for distance learning and ensure that each has an identified workstation.
As a Mighty Bulldog family, we will show our collective stand united against domestic violence and breast cancer this week by wear purple shirts on Tuesday (10/13) and pink shirts on Thursday (10/15). Please share a photo of your scholar supporting the each cause by posting a picture on their class Dojo page--purple on Tuesday and pink on Thursday.
Parents, we have had an increasing number of reports of inappropriate language, music, dress of parents/siblings and distracting pets on the screens this week. Please ensure that the above are immediately addressed. We must remember to create a learning environment as free of distractions as possible to ensure our scholars are able to concentrate on and learn the required material for SY21. Thank you in advance for reassessing your scholar(s) work space and the smalls changes you can make this week to ensure his/her success.
The quote by Bob Beauprez posted above reiterates what we believe here at Brandywine Elementary School--that we must come together and move on one accord to ensure that our scholars are successful. I thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to our scholars!
We are ONE School, ONE Team, Making a Difference!
Have a great week.

Parents, please be aware that the State of Maryland is upholdings its attendance expectations for SY21.
Per the Reopening plan, pg. 76, " Attendance Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) continues to follow the state and local guidance in collection of student and teacher attendance...Attendance for Students During Distance Learning For all distance learning platforms, students not present on days live instruction occurs will be considered absent. On days when students are unable to attend scheduled classes due to illness, parent work schedule, and child care; parents must communicate the reason for the student’s absence via email to the student's classroom teacher. All work assigned during the student’s absence remains required for submission. During distance learning only, technical issues such as broken equipment or internet outages must be immediately communicated to the student’s teacher and designated school staff so support can be provided as soon as possible."

The Mighty Bulldogs Afterschool Academy
Please see below a post from our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Grant.
At the end of last school year, we had several parents express interest in volunteering to co-lead an after school club. Awesomeness!!!
If your schedule permits, please consider co-leading an after school club for our Mighty Bulldog scholars by completing the form below.

Distance Learning Handbook
The purpose of this handbook is to compile, in one place, the policies, procedures and forms that will enable Brandywine Elementary scholars to successfully fulfill his/her responsibilities during Virtual Learning. It has been prepared with the sincere hope that it will be used as a ready reference by families with concerns related to classroom procedures, administration policies and organization norms.
Suggestions on how to become better acquainted with your scholar(s), how to learn about school routines and procedures, and how to secure professional help are included.
The adopted policies are subject to modification, as situations require. The need may arise for revision of this handbook. Feel free to offer suggestions. It is only through cooperative efforts of everyone concerned that we hope to create a wholesome atmosphere/environment for all.
