Nuclear Fusion

Scientist Dr. Chavious and the Science Discovery Laboratory
Hello, I'm Dr. Chavious and my colleagues and I have discovered a new source of energy that could change the world, nuclear fusion. Nuclear fusion is a nuclear reaction in which atomic nuclei of low atomic number fuse to form a heavier nucleus with the release of energy. This new discovery can pave the way to clean, cheap, and safe energy.
How it works?
Fusion into Energy
Nuclear fusion is a nuclear reaction in which two or more atomic nuclei collide at a very high speed and join to form a new type of atomic nucleus. During this process, matter is not conserved because some of the matter of the fusing nuclei is converted to photons (energy). Nuclear fusion is different from nuclear fission because fusion is the combining of two atoms while fission is the separating of two atoms. Fusion also creates a greater amount of energy.
Safety Concerns?
- Possibility of a fuel melt down
- Radioactive waste
- Possible release of tritium
Economic Impact
With this new discovery, there will be many economic impacts such as:
- No energy limitations, full access without excess of greenhouse gases
- Much cheaper
- More people will be able to afford/access energy
