A Message from Mr. Soderberg, Superintendent
Graduation has arrived! It’s hard to believe that our 2022-2023 school year is one week away from concluding and summer vacation is right around the corner. What a GREAT year it has been!
Although the end of the school year marks the beginning of vacation, we have planned a robust schedule of summer options for our students. With an array of summer school courses for all levels, there will be plenty to keep students busy and learning.
As we bid farewell to our class of 2023, it is with great pride and anticipation that we look forward to watching them take their next steps into adulthood. This group of students has proven themselves to be capable, prepared, and eager to make their dreams come true. While they are physically leaving our school district, they will always have a home in Albany.
Our staff is working diligently to prepare for next year and we look forward to another successful school year!
I want to thank the community for their exceptional support of our students and staff. We are truly “doing something BIG in a special little place”.

A Message from Mr. Ritzert, 4K-12 Principal
Hello, Comet Nation,
I can’t believe how fast the month of May has gone! The weather is finally consistently beautiful with a little bit of rain sprinkled in here and there. The spring sports seasons are wrapping up their regular season as they approach the WIAA tournament series for each respective sport. Our elementary school students have been enjoying some of their final field trips of the year, which the weather has certainly been cooperating for.
On Wednesday, May 17th, 2023 we recognized our seniors at senior awards night. This class may be small in numbers, but they are mighty in their efforts toward success. We have graduation right around the corner on Sunday, May 28th, which I know these seniors are excited about. We look forward to seeing you there!
We have our quarter 4 assembly, which will recognize our students for Excellence in quarter 4 as well as other academic achievements on Tuesday, May 30th, also starting at 2 pm. I would like to share those 28 names of the students being recognized, but then it wouldn’t be a surprise, would it? Additionally, we have our 8th-grade promotion celebration on Thursday, June 1, during the school day starting at 2 pm.
This is an exciting time of the year, we are working to finish up the current school year, make the final decisions for summer school, and also plan for the upcoming 2023-24 school year. This has been an amazing start to my return to Albany and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve our students, families, staff, and community.
I encourage you to reach out if you have questions or concerns about your child. I will continue to promote and build the partnership between home and school as I believe it is critical to our success. Together, we will continue our mission to do big things in this special little place.

Future Comet Track & Field STARS! | Comets always lend a helping hand! | Students participated in Green County Government Day. This event introduces students to careers within the Green County government and included a tour of the Green County Jail and related facilities. As a special treat, they were able to pose with the Green County K-9 unit. |
