Arch Ready Express Workshops
We’re excited to announce that we’ve expanded our Arch Ready Programming to now include “Express Workshops” – 30-minute workshops on a variety of career-related topics in a small group setting in our Career Center Multipurpose Room. In the first 15 minutes, we’ll cover the top 5 tips related to the topic, with an additional 15 minutes for questions from the group. Express Workshops are open to ALL UGA majors and count toward your Arch Ready Professionalism Certificate. Please note that all Express Workshops are limited to 20 people per session and pre-registration is required via Handshake.

Journalism & Mass Communication Career Day
The Journalism & Mass Communication Career Day is coming on February 7! The event will include opportunities for students to network with employers at a coffee mixer, luncheon, and the career fair.

- 10:30-11 a.m.—Coffee Mixer with Students and Employers—Hosted in the Peyton Anderson Forum in the Journalism Building
- 11:00 a.m. -12:15 p.m.—Panel: Kick-starting Your Career: Tips for New Professionals—Hosted in the Peyton Anderson Forum in the Journalism Building RSVP for the Luncheon on Handshake.
- 12:30-2:00 p.m.— Networking Luncheon with Students and Employers—Hosted in Tate Grand Hall

Now Hiring - Sales Engineer at Thermal Resource Sales
Thermal Resource Sales Atlanta is looking for a junior Sales Engineer that is interested in joining a growing office within a very successful organization. The ideal candidate has the ability to think outside of the box, has a very outgoing personality, a mechanical background, and is highly motivated for success! Now Hiring - Congressional Budget Office
The Congressional Budget Office, a small nonpartisan agency that provides economic and budgetary analysis to the Congress, is seeking several assistant analysts to work in various divisions. Specific duties vary by division, but most include research assistance, statistical analysis, database management, graphics production, literature review, and quality assurance.
These are entry-level positions for a period not to exceed three years—ideal for those interested in substantive work experience before attending graduate school. These position are only for candidates who have or are completing a bachelor’s degree; it is not for those who are have or are completing a master’s degree.

This 30-minute express workshop will cover the top five tips for writing a memorable personal statement in 15 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes for questions. Please note that you will not have your statement critiqued during this time, however, you can have your specific questions answered. If you're in need of some quick personal statement tips for admittance into your program of study or for applying to graduate school , this workshop is for you.

Grad Workshop: Successful Strategies for Job Searching and Networking

Finding an internship or job is sometimes a full-time job, and it’s not always about landing the first job. Learn about strategies, search engines, authentic network building through informational interviewing, and the power of professional associations and online profiles. See what resources are available to you for free, how to avoid the business card collecting style of networking, how to develop “elevator pitches” and have 5 minute conversation with professionals or employers in between workshops or at conferences.

Creating Digital Portfolios (Arch Ready Spring 2019)

Come to this workshop if you'd like more information on creating a digital portfolio to showcase work you've done and help make yourself more competitive in the job and internship search! We'll discuss information and sections that should be included in a digital portfolio, the differences between popular platforms, how to include your portfolio link on your job/internship search materials to ensure views and plan next steps for creating a portfolio.
The presentation covers three main topics:
· Elements of the portfolio, including visual examples
· Portfolio tips from employers
· Overview of platforms and sharing your portfolio link

- Understand the role of a personal statement in the admissions process

- Name some components of a strong statement
