Where Everyone Can Succeed
From the Principal
Glendore is a school where we ensure that we get to know your child, and how we can best work alongside you to help them succeed.
Please bookmark this page on your desktop, laptop, phone and tablet device. We will send live updates to this page and will also include you now in our other official 'Glendore Grapevine' correspondence. This is a great school. I bought a house in the area so my family could come here. I can pay no higher testament to our staff than that.
Apologies for our remote presentation tonight - details provided below. We will repeat this for parents/caregivers who were unable to attend later this term and early next term. However, the team and I would love to e-meet with you this evening from 6:00-7:00 pm on Zoom. Please ensure that you have a free account set up, or if not possible, you can dial in via mobile or landline and listen along (just like an informative Disney bedtime story).
Do follow our school's Facebook page and also the HNE (Hunter New England) Health FB page as reputable sources of information and resources. As soon as you have completed your orientation , 100-points ID check and are enrolled, we will also be able to include you in our Sentral Parent Portal.
Don't forget to click on everything in this newsletter, buttons, pictures etc. You can't break anything and sometimes interesting things will happen.
Take care in these challenging times - be safe - be well.
Welcome to our wonderful school,
Mr Khalil Khay FACE School Principal

- The purpose of Glendore PS Buddy program is to support a smooth transition for our Kindergarten children starting school.
- This program will promote social and support networks for children beginning Kindergarten and promote a sense of community and belonging in our school.
- Kindergarten students are placed in a Buddy Group with a Group of Year 6 Buddies on their first day of school.
- Buddies look after the kindergarten students for the first few weeks of school. Year 6 buddies come to the Kindergarten classrooms each lunch and recess and look after our new students in the playground.
- They help teach our Kindergarten students the school rules and values, assist them with eating times and encourage them to play with their new friends.
- Back in the classroom, throughout the year, Year 6 buddies are invited to come and join in with the kindergarten activities.
- These may include reading to the students, helping them with their writing and join in with art and craft activities.
- Glendore PS use an invoicing system called School Bytes which does the following;
Online parent payment portal
- Parents receive an email with a button to open their personalised payment portal.
- They can choose which line items to pay for, the amount they wish to pay and apply any unallocated credit to items.
- They can see how much they have already paid against each line item.
- Parent portal is integrated with the existing Westpac Parent Online Payment (POP) system, so on submission parents are redirected here to complete their payment securely.
Parent Communication
- The parent communication module allows schools to send personalised email correspondence to parents/carers and students in bulk, such as for newsletters and general notifications.
- Our P&C plays an important role in supporting the school’s teaching and learning activities and is the forum for parents, caregivers and citizens who have an interest in their children’s education.
- Aims
- Bringing the community, students and staff together, to promote the best interests of the school
Assist in the provision of resources, facilities and amenities for the school
Encouraging communication, cooperation and participation within the school community
Providing a forum of discussion on school issues and gathering of ideas
The fostering of community interest in education
- Our P&C is interested in actively promoting a strong and vibrant school community with open, transparent lines of communication, so to provide our children with a first-class learning environment.
- Communication
- Information is posted on the school website, posted on our Facebook page and included in our Newsletter.
- You are welcome to email suggestions to the school at any time.
- While not everyone wants to or is able to be a position holder, everyone can be involved. This can include the following;
reading about what the P&C is doing.
making suggestions on how we can improve our school.
supporting fundraising efforts with either time or donations.
attending meetings to participate in positive, vibrant discussions.
- All important and welcomed.
- Fundraising
- An important element of our P&C is fundraising. The P&C organises numerous fundraising activities each term including Mothers’ Day & Fathers’ Day Stalls, Xmas Raffle and many more.
- Without the support of families, teachers and the wider community in fundraising activities, the P&C are not able to give back to the school.
- The extra money we raise, the more resources that can be purchased for our school, benefiting all our children.
- We thank all families and the community for supporting our fundraising activities, so that we can support our school and students!!
- Meetings
- The P&C meets Mondays, twice a term (the third Monday of each month) in the school library. Our meetings start at 6:30 pm and dates are posted on the school website, Facebook page and Newsletter.
- A spread of parents from throughout the school helps ensure decisions made encompass and benefit all. The more that people involved, the easier it is to enhance our wonderful school community. It’s also a great way to meet other parents.
We look forward to seeing you at our meetings.
Before School, After School and Vacation Care is operated by the YMCA and is operated on the school premises.
Parents can drop their children off early in the morning for supervision by highly qualified and trained YMCA staff from 6:30am and concludes at 8:30am. Supervision commences again after school by YMCA Staff at 2:40pm and lasts up until 6pm.
The children's interests are the foundations of our programs. We encourage children to be involved in interesting and exciting play experiences and explore their natural talents and potential. Children enjoy different team sports, dancing, indoor discussions and activities, such as art and craft. Homework is encouraged.
We inspire all children to engage in a healthy lifestyle. We offer breakfast and afternoon tea in accordance with government recommended healthy eating guidelines. We also encourage children to participate in outdoor active play.
