Easley Weekly Update
Everything You Need to Know For The Coming Week
September 14, 2020
A Note from the principal
I hope everyone had a nice weekend and enjoyed the taste of cooler weather. It's hard to believe we are entering the fifth week of school! Remote learning is certainly not easy but it is getting a little better every week. Thank you for your continued support of your child's learning at home and of the work our teachers are doing.
Early Release Day
This Wednesday is an Early Release Day and there will be no instruction or small groups after 12:00 PM as teachers will be participating in professional development sessions.

Media Center Updates
We have two very exciting programs starting this week to get books into kids’ hands! First, our Scholastic Online Book Fair starts Monday and continues till 9/27. Information is posted on the Easley website or you can start shopping at https://bit.ly/2ZiIhta tomorrow. Shipping is free once you spend $25 and books will be shipped to your homes when the fair ends. Shopping the fair will help support the library program.
Also, Monday September 14th is our first library book curbside pickup day. First, you must make sure you have books checked out to your child. See this link for directions. If you do, come to the back bus parking lot from 4:30-6:30 every Monday or from 3-5 on every Thursday from now on to pick up those books! For returning books, you can bring them to another drive thru or drop them off in the return bin during school hours just past the front door. While we let books “rest” in quarantine, you may see returned books linger on your child’s account, but you do not have to wait for those to clear before you put on more holds and come to another drive thru. We will continue to check books out to your child in the assumption all books will be returned.
Additional information is on Ms. Hartley’s website.
Evenings of Family Academy a DPS Virtual Class Series
The District is hosting a series of family academy events with helpful topics such as getting familiar with your digital tools, learning about the new reading curriculum, and positive behavior supports just to name a few.
