Teal Takeover Day- Tuesday, March 14th
Food allergies and anaphylaxis affect more than 15 million Americans. It is estimated that every classroom has at least 2 students with a potentially life-threatening food allergy. In an effort to raise awareness of food allergies, Memorial School will participate in “Teal Takeover” day on Tuesday, May 14th. Students are encouraged to wear teal to show support and raise awareness of food allergies.

On Thursday, May 30th, our third grade students will participate in a fun-filled and high-energy assembly program sponsored by MEPTO. Mark Rothstein will join us to present his program: World of Rope Jumping. As a performing pro-athlete, educator, role model and entertainer, Mark will share an inspirational assembly for our students. Mark emphasizes the following character building elements in his assembly: integrity, healthy living, honesty, respect, positive choices, kindness, fitness, trying your best, and teamwork. We look forward to this program.

Weekend Back Pack Program
We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Stop & Shop and the YMCA to provide weekend food to Memorial School students who might benefit from this support. The goal of the program is to help alleviate hunger by providing students with nutritious and easy-to-prepare foods on weekends. Each Friday, from March 29 to June 14, students participating in this program would bring home breakfast, lunch and snack items to be consumed on the weekend. Participation in this program is confidential and all students are eligible to participate. Names of participating families or students are not shared with outside sponsors or volunteers.
To participate in this program please fill out the form below or complete a brief Google Form which can be found here.
MEPTO Updates
Attention 4th Grade Families
It’s hard to believe that we are a few short months away from our 4th grade students finishing their elementary years! Our Memorial School 4th Grade Sendoff is scheduled for Friday, June 14th 9am-10:30am. Information about this special celebration will be in backpacks on Monday.
Part of the sendoff celebration will include a video of photos covering the early and elementary years of our students. To help us collect photos a few parents have volunteered to support each class.
What you need to know and what you need to do if you would like your child to be part of the slideshow:
· Email 3-5 digital photos to the parent collecting for your child’s classroom (see table below)
· Photos should be from school sponsored events and/or MEPTO events (Art night, Ice
Cream Social, Dodgeball Tournament, Field Day, Open Mic Night, etc)
· Photos can be of -bus stop photos, first day of school, etc
· Photos can be of baby photos or preschool years
· Photos should not be from personal events (vacations, birthday parties, etc)
· If you are submitting a group photo, please ensure that parents of the children in the photo have “approved” the use of the photo. Simply contact the parents of the children in the photo to ask them for their permission.
Please email your photos by Friday, May 24th. Reference this table to identify which parent is collecting for your respective classroom.
