Curbside Pick Up - Tomorrow Weds., June 17th
All students are invited to our final Curbside Drop Off/Pick Up Day on Wednesday, June 17th from 2:30-6:30 pm. Students returning to ISB or another BSD school next year should keep their Chromebook over the summer. They may also keep any school materials, but we will accept library materials if you would like to drop them off.
We will distribute student belongings from lockers and classrooms, t-shirts for all current 8th-11th graders, and pre-purchased yearbooks. Parents/guardians can pick up medications at this time too.
If students left belongings in the PE Locker Room, please use this form to identify your belongings. The form will be open until 10 am Wednesday, June 17th.
Staff will deliver the items curbside in the bus lane. Please create a sign with your last name largely written on a piece of notebook paper and hold it up in the car window while we retrieve your belongings, allowing us to maintain social distancing for the community’s health. We'll set the belongings on a table for you to retrieve when we've stepped away.
Class of 2020 Sweatshirts
A few Class of 2020 Sweatshirts are still available for $10. Please email lana_meyer@beaverton.k12.or.us to arrange a purchase. They may be picked up June 17th from 2:30-6:30 pm.
Summer Reading Lists 2020-2021
Summer is almost here, and that means it's reading time! ISB English classes require students to read independently over the summer, and each year has specific requirements. Reading lists can be found on our website (see links below). Please refer to these lists when determining what to read this summer. Students must complete their summer reading by the first day of school.
Summer Access to High School Canvas Courses
Canvas will remain open for current high school students until August 9th. The purpose of Canvas remaining open is for students with "Incomplete" marks to continue to submit work to show proficiency on learning targets. Teachers are not expected to respond to work submitted until school resumes in the fall. Any adjustment of "Incomplete" marks to "Pass" marks will be made in September. Students needing to submit work after August 9th can email their teacher or turn in a copy when they return to school.
Students who earned a Passing mark but did not fully engage during the school closure are encouraged to continue their learning on lessons teachers posted in Canvas this spring.
Remote Learning Survey
As we make plans for next fall, we're gathering input from students, families, and teachers about what worked well and what can be improved if we need to continue remote learning. Please take a few minutes to respond to these brief surveys:
MYP and DP Awards
ISB is an active member of the Northwest Association of International Baccalaureate Schools (NIBA). We are proud to be able to present two awards to students in the final year of the Middle Years and Diploma Programs.
Students honored by the Mac Willems Award are recognized for exemplifying all aspects of the IB Learner Profile throughout the MYP or DP. Congratulations to Jadzeira Garcia (10) and Leo Liu (12)!
An MYP student who excels in service as action and a DP student with an outstanding Creativity, Action, and Service project are recognized with the Doug Kavanaugh Award. Kudos to Chelsea Navarro (10) and Marquesa Calderon (12)!

High School Athletics and Activities
More than one in every five ISB high school students played a sport for their home high school last fall. It is unclear what impact the school closure and social distancing guidelines will have on summer practices and tryouts for fall sports. However, all students interested in participating in high school sports next year should refer to the Athletics page of their home high school for information as it becomes available. Students playing a high school sport for the first time will need to obtain a sports physical. Here are links to the Athletics Department of each comprehensive high school (consider bookmarking if you plan to play a sport):
