The Granville Academy Team is planning and preparing for our inaugural school year as part of Granville County Public Schools! We are so excited to announce and work with our curriculum platform, introduce GA's staff and teachers, continue to welcome new families into GA, and increase our outreach within the community!
You an expect to receive more than one edition of the GA newsletter this month with the newest updates for our new school!
Granville Academy Pirates!
We are officially the Granville Academy Pirates! We can navigate through anything at anytime, just like our learning can happen anywhere and anytime!
All grades will attend orientation on August 16. Dates and locations will be emailed. Open house will be held on August 23.
Student Enrollment at Granville Academy!
We are so excited to welcome so many students into Granville Academy and provide them with a blended learning experience. We currently have approximately 160 Granville Academy Pirates and we are welcoming 68 new students and families into Granville County Public Schools!
Students attending GA at Credle Elementary and Northern Granville Middle school will begin school on August 27th. Students attending the Southern end schools, Tar River Elementary, and the middle school location, will begin school on August 29th.
These days will begin Granville Academy's inaugural school year!

During the last few months, a team of administrators, teachers and coaches have worked together to select the online curriculum for Granville Academy. Fuel Education is Granville Academy's choice for students K-8! Fuel Education will tap into the best of today’s vast array of digital educational resources, tailor solutions for a variety of learning environments, and personalize learning to drive stronger student engagement and outcomes.

Granville Academy Principal: Dr. Vanessa Wrenn
Dr. Wrenn has been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty-three years. She has worked with diverse students as a teacher and district administrator. Most importantly as a mother of three children, her lens is always, what is best for children. Dr. Wrenn states, "My goal is to ensure that all children are healthy, happy and safe, so they may be successful learners. This has been my philosophy since I began my career teaching."
Dr. Wrenn is a former Career Technical Education teacher and is the Director of Technology and Online Learning for Granville County Public Schools. She understands that each child needs an advocate. Dr. Wrenn says, "I am excited and eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to Granville Academy and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success."
We are truly so excited to have Dr. Vanessa Wrenn as our leader!

Granville Academy has hired highly qualified teachers for the upcoming school year! We are awaiting approval from the GCPS Board of Education to announce staffing for the following positions:
Middle Grades Science and Math teacher
Middle Grades ELA and Social Studies teacher
Elementary Grades K-2 Teacher
Elementary Grades 3-5 Teacher
