Families in Need

Horace Mann School helps families in need at our school at this time of year. If you'd like to donate a gift card to Target or a local grocery store to help others, you may drop them off at the school office. Our counselor or social work will help distribute them. We also have access to a free food program for the weekends called Every Meal.


If your family has a need (clothing, boots, holiday), please contact our counselor or social worker.

Read-a-Thon time is wrapping up!


Please turn in your tracking calendar and collect your final pledge donations! Reading minutes are coming in and we are getting closer to our goal!

  • The classroom with the most minutes read will receive a pizza party!

  • Classroom(s) with 100% participation (calendars turned in) will receive a $25 Scholastic Credit

  • If the school collectively reads 600,000 minutes, Principal Litwin will declare an all-school PJ party AND kiss a llama!!


Remember:

  1. Reading minutes are tallied on your calendar through November 28.
  2. Reading logs will be collected and counted the week of December 5.
  3. Classroom minute winners will be announced on Friday, December 9.
  4. Pledge donations can still be made online, simply follow this link:

Please consider making a donation if you have not done so already.


This PTA-sponsored event is one of the main school fundraisers. The money raised is vital to the success of the PTA's plans for funding school-wide activities such as field trips, classroom supplies, and Art Adventure.

Mission of Gratitude

What started as a Kindergarten mission morphed into a Kindergarten and 2nd grade mission!


In appreciation of all the Horace Mann employees and in gratitude for all that they do for the students, the building, and for each other, the Discovery Club students wanted to do something helpful. As a thank you, they walked around the school grounds and picked up trash. They ask us to keep passing on the gratitude! 😁

Scholastic Book Fair

Mark your calendars! Scholastic Book Fair Coming back in-person: December 6-8th, 2:30- 6:00pm in the Horace Mann Library!


The Scholastic Book Fair is back, in- person! Come to the Horace Mann Library to pick out your books. Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become stronger readers.


Your student should receive the flyer for the fair this week! Every book purchased earns rewards for our school library!
